CAUSES
There are many reasons why dark under-eye circles may be a concern for many patients. Some of the common causes consist of:
- Anemia
- Aging
- Smoking
- Inherited genetics
- Dehydration
- Lack of proper sleep
- Allergies - including hay fever
- Hyperpigmentation - caused when the body produces more melanin
- Reduced levels of fatty tissue around the eyes
- Thinning skin under the eyes
- Overexposure to sunlight
TREATMENT
Our No More Dark Circles treatment begins with collagen-building under the eyes with devices through the use of Ultrasound/Radiofrequency or RF Microneedling. This is follo wed by PRP injections to add growth factors to stimulate cell turnover. Fillers such as Belotero or Restylane can be used if needed to add volume to hollow under eyes. A moderate chemical peel mask is then u sed to reduce pigmentation. Patients are then sent home with a medical-grade eye cream containing active ingredients such as retinol, kojic acid, and peptides to brighten the eyes.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The results are a brighter, more youthful appearance to the eyes. The treated areas may be slightly swollen and red, but this often fades away after several hours. It's suggested that the patient avoids strenuous activities like exercise for 1-2 days, and you should sleep with your head propped up for at least the first night. Final results can be seen about 1-2 weeks post-treatment.
